How we use and protect the details you share with us, explained as clearly as we can.
This notice covers acornandoakcarehomes.co.uk. [Legal entity - to confirm] runs Acorn House at 39 Maidstone Road and Oak House at 95 Maidstone Road, Chatham, and is the data controller for both.
What we collect, and why
If you fill in the enquiry form on this site we collect your name, whichever of your phone number and email address you give us, which home you’re asking about, and anything you write in the message. We use it to answer your enquiry and nothing else. We don’t sell it, and we won’t add you to a mailing list.
If you call or write to us instead, we may keep a note of the conversation so the right person can follow up without asking you to repeat everything.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don’t lead to someone moving into one of our homes are kept for [retention period - to confirm] and then deleted. If someone does come to live with us, their care records are handled separately, under the rules that apply to care records, rather than under this notice.
Who else sees it
Only the people at the home you asked about, and the small team who look after both homes. Messages sent through the form reach us by email, delivered by Resend, the email service the form uses, and our website is looked after by Heritage Care Partners. Both handle your details only to get your message to us. We don’t share enquiry details with anybody else unless the law requires us to.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. It stores one small item in your own browser to remember that you’ve seen the cookie notice, and one to remember that you’ve already seen the opening animation so it doesn’t play on every page. Neither leaves your device and neither tells us anything about you.
The Acorn House and Oak House pages, and our contact page, show maps of the homes’ locations. Those maps come from Google Maps, which is Google’s service rather than ours, so when a map loads, your browser contacts Google and Google may set its own cookies. Each home’s address is also written out in full beside its map.
Your rights
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call Acorn House and we’ll help. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
